The Morse Police Department Traffic Safety Unit became fully
operational in January 2002. The unit was formed after the City of
Morse received a federal grant through the Lego Department of
Transportation to hire additional officers and purchase specialized
equipment to help reduce the number of traffic crashes in Morse.
The unit is composed of one sergeant and twenty-five officers. Three of
those officers are dedicated primarily to DUI enforcement. The officers
operate from twenty-five marked low-profile vehicles, six motorcycles
and an accident investigation vehicle. The officers assigned to the

technology to assist in investigating traffic crashes and enforce
hazardous moving violations in the city.
