Police Divisons - Patrol
The Patrol Division is the backbone of the Morse Police
Department. The sergeants and patrol officers are divided
between five different shifts which provide 24-hour police
protection to the City of Morse. The division is mainly comprised
of the officers who work Patrol Districts in the City and several
support units, such as the Traffic Unit, S.T.A.R. Team,
Community Service Officers and the Canine unit.
The primary duties of the officers in the division are:
* District patrol
* Community relations
* Accident investigations
* Business and residence checks
* Handling alarms and crisis situations
* Responding to calls for service from the community
* Enforcement of state and federal law and the municipal code
Some of the specialized units:
* Traffic Safety Unit
* Warrant Officer
* S.T.A.R. Team
* Community Service Officers - CSO
* Canine Unit
* School Resource Officers - SRO
